Setting Up an Autoresponder Account Step by Step

To set up an autoresponder account for your domain you first need to decide what service you will be using. The main decision is which service is the right one for you. The largest factor is deciding which service will deliver your emails the best. The company that you choose should not fail spam tests, have several internet protocol addresses, and have a solid reputation. It should allow you to set up multiple lists and have many subscribers at a reasonable cost. The autoresponder should come with easy installation instructions and integrate well with your other programs. While you need to think about price a great autoresponder program will pay for itself many times over.

The second thing that you need to decide is what the goal of your autoresponder program is for the domain. There are probably as many goals as there are business owners but there are at least 4 main reasons. They are to establish the business owner as an expert in their area. Another reason is to offer follow up to customers. The third reason is to offer education to your potential customers. The last reason is to build up a solid base of repeat visitors.

The third thing you will need to do is to create two web pages. The first of these is the confirmation page. It will assure you that your customer wants to sign up for your program. The second page is the download page. While some programs will offer these pages as default pages, creating your own pages is a great idea as it gives you a chance to start selling your potential customer on the way that you want them to think. Two additional points to think about at this point is rather you want to give your customer a free gift for opting into your program. A free gift can be a great way to start building customer loyalty. Also you may consider pointing the viewer to an archives section which can contain past blogs or newsletters. This may or may not be a good idea depending on what your goals are.

You have now done the hard work of setting up an autoresponder program for your domain. You have identified your goals for using the program and written your first two messages. A great autoresponder program will be 80% instruction and 20% sales pitch. This is a great time to start the teaching part. Also you want the reader to develop a trust in you. Keeping the tone of these emails conversational will help build this trust.

Your next step is simply to enter the information into the program that you have chosen for your domain. In all likelihood your chosen autoresponder program will provide a simple step by step process that you will follow. It will differ slightly with different programs. If you have problems with the set up then contact their technical support staff who will kindly assist you.
